Welcome to the wonderful world of DOTZ!
When you were a kid (or if you still are!) you probably remember
playing this age-old game of "dots" or "dotz". You know, where you took
a piece of chalk, a brush, and had competitions with all of your
friends? Playing this game may just bring back some of those memories.
Playing is simple. Players take turns placing lines between
the dots. You can only place one line at a time, unless you complete
a square; each time you complete a square you get to go again. The object
is to complete more squares than your opponent.
The game starts out at a very fast pace because there is such
a large playing area, but soon you will be pondering your next move as
if you were playing chess. HINT: Keep as far away from your opponent
as long as possible (not physically mind you, but on the game board. Unless
of course your opponent sm... never mind).
That's about it ... easy huh?
The game pointer will automatically change to indicate which
player is up, and a score tally is kept in the lower right corner of
the screen.
PROGRAM NOTES:
--------------
Sorry this is strictly a two-player game. We originally planned
to add artificial intelligence, but it just never came about. This
project was actually written in 1989 over a period of about two days,
but got lost somewhere in one of my disk boxes. We decided to release it
as is, since I know if we waited for the artificial intelligence module,
you'd never see the product!
This program was written in C using MANX AZTEC C V3.0 (originally)
and then recompiled with V5.0. The windows and menus were designed with
the aid of a wonderful program, Power Windows V2.5. The brushes were
drawn using DeluxePaint III.
This is the first "official" release for Legendary Design
Technologies, but we are planning on releasing a slew of new products
in 1991. Look for us, drop us a line, or buy us a coffee!
Thanks heaps!
